Ukraine could harvest the largest grains and oilseeds crop on record – 100 mln tonnes and the export could reach 61 mln tonnes, declared the experts of the Ukrainian Grain Association in their July report.
“The upward revision of the grain production and export forecasts was caused by better prospects for corn and barley. Particularly, corn output and export could be record high – 38.9 mln tonnes (up from previously expected 36.8 mln tonnes) and 33 mln tonnes correspondingly. Last season, corn production totaled record 35.2 mln tonnes, export – 30.3 mln tonnes”, – was stated in the report.
Barley production was revised up from 7.6 mln tonnes to 8.2 mln tonnes, export – from 3.8 mln tonnes to 4.2 mln tonnes.
Wheat production and export forecasts were remained unchanged at 26.8 mln tonnes and 18 mln tonnes correspondingly.
“We expect the growth of grains and oilseeds production to 113 mln tonnes in the mid-term, while the export could reach 75 mln tonnes”.
