Back to all news

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valerii Zaluzhnyi and International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez have discussed the security of grain corridors and the need to punish Russia for stealing Ukrainian grain.

The relevant statement was made by Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valerii Zaluzhnyi on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I am pleased to have held the first meeting with the present Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez. We discussed the security of grain corridors, Ukraine’s port infrastructure and navigation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, which is being blocked by Russia. I emphasized that the theft of Ukrainian grain, committed by the enemy, must be prevented and punished in accordance with international law,” Zaluzhnyi wrote.

The Ukrainian diplomat expressed gratitude to Dominguez and the IMO’s entire team for supporting Ukraine and its sailors affected by Russian armed aggression.

Zaluzhnyi also expressed confidence that Ukraine would remain the breadbasket of Europe and the entire free world.

A reminder that, on July 11, 2024, the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, presented the copies of his credentials to Director of Protocol and Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Victoria Busby.
