In 2018/19 MY, Ukraine can increase the production and exports of feed barley and corn, declared the Director at Al Ghurair Resources Ukraine, Oleg Levchenko within frames of the international conference “Middle East Grain Congress” in Dubai, on February 17.
In particular, in the season-2018/19 the harvest of corn will reach 30 mln tonnes, against 28.3 mln tonnes in the current season. In turn, the forecast of corn export potential in 2018/19 MY increased to 24 mln tonnes, against 18.5 mln tonnes in the season-2017/18. At the same time, the expert expected for minor changes in export destinations: reduction of the supplies to Iran and Korea, and increasing of the shipments to the EU, said O.Levchenko.
In turn, in the coming season the production of barley will reach 8.7 mln tonnes, as opposed to 8.4 mln tonnes in 2017/18 MY, while the export figures will total 4.5 mln tonnes, against 4.2 mln tonnes in the current season.
