As of August 17, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 30.83 mln tons of early grains and pulses from 6.67 mln ha. The barley and pea harvests are effectively complete, while wheat harvesting is also nearing completion.
Wheat has been harvested from 4.86 mln ha, or 94% of the planned area. Production has reached 23.82 mln tons, with the average yield at 4.91 t/ha. Wheat therefore accounts for the bulk of Ukraine’s early grain harvest so far.
Barley production reached 6.22 mln tons from 1.52 mln ha, with an average yield of 4.1 t/ha. Farmers also harvested 779 thsd tons of peas from almost 296 thsd ha, with yields averaging 2.63 t/ha.
The early grain harvest has already been fully completed in Kirovohrad, Odesa, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi and Mykolaiv regions. Odesa region recorded the largest harvest at 4.82 mln tons, including 3.22 mln tons of wheat.
The winter rapeseed harvest is also virtually complete. Farmers harvested 3.76 mln tons from 1.32 mln ha, or 99% of the planted area. Ukraine therefore already has near-final 2026 production figures for its major early grains and rapeseed.
