Only 6% of planned grain areas remain to be harvested in Ukraine

According to operational data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, as of December 18 grain and legumes in Ukraine had been harvested from 10.895 million ha (94% of the planned area), with 56.576 million tons of grain collected at an average yield of 5.19 c/ha.

As noted, harvesting of late grain crops is currently ongoing, with the following dynamics:

  • corn – 26.446 million tons from 3.779 million ha (86%) at a yield of 7.0 c/ha;
  • buckwheat – 82.4 thousand tons from 59.4 thousand ha (97%) at a yield of 1.39 c/ha;
  • millet – 62.1 thousand tons from 35.8 thousand ha (88%) at a yield of 1.74 c/ha.

As for oilseeds, as of December 18 the following volumes had been harvested:

  • sunflower – 9.148 million tons from 4.835 million ha (93%) at a yield of 1.89 c/ha;
  • soybeans – 4.78 million tons from 2.025 million ha (98%) at a yield of 2.37 c/ha.

Harvesting of sugar beets has also been practically completed: the crop has been lifted from 197.4 thousand ha, or 99% of the planned area. A total of 10.743 million tons has been harvested, with an average yield of 54.42 c/ha.
