Argentina’s 2025/26 corn harvest seen at record 62 mln tons

Back to all news

Argentina’s Rosario grains exchange has raised its forecast for the country’s 2025/26 corn harvest to a record 62 million metric tons, citing a larger-than-expected planted area and better crop prospects than previously anticipated.

The revised estimate is 1 million tons higher than the previous forecast and exceeds the prior record set in the 2023/24 season by 9.5 million tons. Argentina is the world’s third-largest corn exporter, so a larger harvest could have a notable impact on global grain supply.

The exchange said that recent hot and dry weather reduced crop productivity less than initially feared, allowing yield potential to remain largely intact across key growing regions.

Rain is forecast for major production areas in the coming days, which could further support crop development. Against this backdrop, the Rosario exchange also indicated it may raise its soybean harvest estimate, currently pegged at 47 million tons.
