Winter sowing in Ukraine is almost complete

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of December 2, 5.063 mln ha or 98% of the forecast (5.188 mln ha) were sown with winter grain crops in Ukraine.

In particular, as of December 2 this year were sown:

• winter wheat – 4.384 mln ha, or 98% of the forecast (4.479 mln ha);
• winter barley – 611.1 thousand ha, or 96% of the forecast (638.5 thousand ha);
• winter rye – 68.6 thousand ha, or 97% of the forecast (70.5 thousand ha).

Thus, these indicators are unchanged compared to the results of the previous week.

Now in 16 regions of Ukraine on the specified date the planned indicators of sowing areas have been reached.

As for sowing winter rape, the area under the oilseed rape for the week increased by 1.7 thousand hectares and as of December 2 is estimated at 1.083 mln hectares, or 96% of the forecast (1.123 mln hectares).

“Agrarians of 12 regions have completed sowing of the specified crop,” – specified in the Ministry.

Note also that last year the fall sowing season in Ukraine has already been completed.
