In January-February 2026, Ukraine exported 9.95 million tons of agricultural products amounting to $4 billion. Compared to the same period in 2025, the physical export volumes remained almost unchanged, while the foreign currency revenue increased by 9.3%.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi announced these results. According to him, the first months of the year demonstrate the resilience of the Ukrainian agro-sector and a gradual shift towards exporting products with higher added value.
“Despite the challenging conditions of the war, the Ukrainian agro-sector maintains stable export volumes and increases foreign currency revenue. We see a positive trend – the share of processed products is growing, in particular, rapeseed oil exports have significantly increased. At the same time, diversifying sales markets and expanding the geography of exports remain important tasks,” noted Taras Vysotskyi.
The European Union countries remain the key trading partners for Ukrainian agricultural products. In January-February 2026, they accounted for about 50% of the foreign currency revenue from agricultural exports.
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries provided another 20% of the export revenue. Turkey’s role significantly increased – its share in the agricultural export structure reached 13%. In monetary terms, deliveries to Turkey more than doubled – from $247 million in January-February 2025 to $507 million in 2026.
The top export items by volume remain corn, sunflower oil, wheat, soybeans, and meat. However, there has been a noticeable change among the top ten export positions: rapeseed oil exports have grown rapidly. In January-February 2026, Ukraine exported it for $102 million, placing this product in the eighth position among all agricultural goods by export value.
For comparison, a year ago, rapeseed oil exports were only $3 million, and its position in the export ranking was 61st. This was a result of processing development and economic policies aimed at increasing added value in the agro-sector.
In the first two months of 2026, corn exports increased by 20% – from 4.7 million tons to 5.6 million tons. The main driver was a significant increase in shipments to Turkey – from 530 thousand tons to 1.6 million tons.
Meanwhile, wheat exports decreased by 43% – from 2.1 million tons to 1.2 million tons. The largest decrease was in deliveries to EU countries – from 850 thousand tons to 88 thousand tons. One of the reasons was the record wheat production in the European Union in 2025, reaching 134.4 million tons – one of the highest figures in history.
