According to Conab estimates, in the 2025/26 MY, the production of main agricultural crops in Brazil will increase by 2.6% compared to the previous season to 361.7 million tons due to an increase in sown areas by 1.7% to 83.5 million hectares.
In particular, soybean production will grow by 5.2% to a record 180.4 million tons, as the area under it increased by 2.7%, and the yield will exceed last year by 2.5%. Soybean exports could also reach a record 116.2 million tons.
Corn production will increase by 2% compared to the previous season to 144 million tons, as the yield of the first harvest increased by 8.8% to a record 7.19 tons/ha, and the second harvest will amount to 112.1 million tons, which will be only 1% lower than the previous record.
At the same time, wheat production in Brazil will decrease by 27% to 5.74 million tons due to a 21% reduction in sown areas and a 7.5% decrease in average yield to 2.98 tons/ha. Against the background of a decrease in domestic supply, wheat imports will decrease to 7.06 million tons.
Rice production will also decrease by 13% to 11.08 million tons due to a 14% reduction in the area sown.
