As of March 4, Ukrainian agrarians started the planting campaign of early spring grains and pulses. The planted areas already reached 22.5 thsd ha (1% of the forecast), reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, the areas under spring barley totaled 11.6 thsd ha, spring wheat — 0.3 thsd ha, oats — 0.2 thsd ha, and peas — 10.4 thsd ha.
Also, as of the reporting date agrarians provided additional fertilizing of winter grains throughout the areas of 3.8 mln ha (50% of the forecast), up 2.6 mln ha compared with the same date last year.
In particular, agrarians already realized such works throughout 3.1 mln ha of winter wheat (49%), 25.6 thsd ha of winter rye (22%), and 606.5 thsd ha of winter barley (60%). In addition, agrarians provided additional fertilizing of winter rapeseed throughout 967.9 thsd ha (75%).
