Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia almost have a predictable harvest of grain

summer drought and prolonged rainfall during the harvest season, most experts have reduced the forecast of production of grains and oilseeds in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia. However, the results of the harvesting campaign indicate that these countries will gather experts from the USDA projected yields, and selected indicators in the October USDA report can be adjusted in a big way.

In Ukraine with 11.8 million ha (79% of area) produced 45.3 million tonnes of grain with an average yield of 3.85 t/ha (compared with 3,86 t/ha in 2017), in particular:

10.4 million tons of corn from 1.7 million hectares (37% of area) with a yield of 6.22 t/ha (2017 – 4,21 t/ha),

121 thousand tons of buckwheat from 97 thousand hectares (90% of the areas) with a yield of 1.24 t/ha.

34.3 million tons of early grain and leguminous crops from 9.9 million hectares with a yield of 3.48 t/ha,

in addition, the following technical culture:

2.7 million tons of soybean and 1.1 million hectares (63% of the area) with a yield of 2.51 t/ha (2017 – 1,82 t/ha),

4.9 million tonnes of sugar beet with 102 thousand hectares (37% of area) with a yield of 47.8 t/ha (2017 – 4,29 t/ha).

11 million tonnes of sunflower with 5 million hectares (83% of area) with a yield of 2.20 t/ha (2017 – 1,91 t/ha),

In Russia as of 9 October, 41.8 million hectares (93,2% of the planned harvesting areas) is obtained to 106.8 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 2.56 t/ha, whereas last year at this date were collected 128,9 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 3 t/ha.

So, on a specified date collected:

17.3 million tons of winter wheat and spring barley from 7.7 million hectares (96.7% of squares) with the yield of 2.24 t/ha (2017 – 2.8 t/ha)

5.2 million tonnes of grain maize from 1.2 million ha (50,9% of the area) with a yield of 4.25 t/ha (2017 – 4,72 t/ha),

2.5 million tons of soybeans, with 1.5 million ha (53.5% of areas) with a yield of 1.7 t/ha (2017 – 1,65 t/ha),

5.7 million tons of sunflower from 3.4 million hectares (42,1% of the area) with the yield of 1.71 t/ha (2017 – 1,79 t/ha).

71,4 million tons of winter wheat and spring wheat with 25.4 million ha (95.8% of areas) with a yield of 2.81 t/ha (2017 – 3,26 t/ha),

In Kazakhstan as of 9 October 14,652 million ha (97.3% of area) harvested 20,905 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 1.43 t/ha (2017 – 1,42 t/ha). Last year on this date with 15,279 million ha (99.4% of the area) were harvested 21.7 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 1.42 t/ha and the total harvest made up 22.09 million tons of grain.

Recall that the acreage in Kazakhstan in comparison with last MG decreased from 15.32 to 15,026 million hectares.
