About the Fat & Oil Industry 2026 European Edition event

Organizers: APK-Inform, APK-Inform Asia

General Sponsor: Elica Processing

In the EU market, which is a major importer of oilseeds and processed products, in the 2025/26 season competition between the main suppliers – Ukraine, Brazil, Argentina and the United States – has intensified significantly. Over the first 7 months of 2025/26, Ukraine lost its leading position in soybean supplies to the EU market to Brazil and the United States, and in soybean meal to Argentina and Brazil, taking 3rd place. A similar situation is observed in the sunflower meal market.

In addition to these traditional suppliers, the EU market is actively being gained by products from Kazakhstan, supported by the rapid development of the oilseed segment in the country. According to the European Commission, over 8 months of the current season Kazakhstan has confidently ranked among the top three suppliers of sunflower meal to the EU. At the same time, Kazakhstan’s customs statistics show that supplies of oilseeds to the EU in September-January increased 2.1 times, reaching 325.6 thsd tons.

Taking into account the current trends of the European oilseed market, on the one hand leading to a growing dependence of the processing industry on imported raw materials, and on the other hand the intensifying competition between key suppliers, both Bulgaria and Ukraine are facing relevant issues of further shaping the competitive environment in the EU market in all its aspects – from requirements for the quality of imported products to quota distribution and logistics features. At the same time, issues of efficient technologies and equipment are becoming increasingly important for producing competitive products amid global economic and energy disruptions.

We invite experts and representatives of the fat and oil business to take part in the Fat & Oil Industry 2026 European Edition: trade and technologies amid global competition for the EU market and, ahead of the new season, jointly develop market strategies.
