The update of «Ukrzaliznytsia» gives an opportunity to receive an additional 1% GDP growth in 2018, as mentioned by the Prime Minister

The renovation and modernization of Ukraine’s infrastructure complex, primarily the railroad «Ukrzaliznytsia», gives an opportunity to increase the country’s GDP by at least 1% in 2018.  The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported about this statement of the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Vladimir Groisman, on December 20.

“Infrastructure should be ready to support export and the transportation of goods. This will affect the development of goods output. The question of «Ukrzaliznytsia» comes to the fore. We need a high-quality railway. This is important for both metallurgical and agricultural complex. The main goal is to implement the plan for the introduction of new carriages on a monthly basis and to announce tenders starting from January 2018. At this moment, the dynamics of GDP growth for 2018 depends on «Ukrzaliznytsia», was noted by V. Groisman.

He also noted that it is impossible to allow the disruption of tenders due to the application of antimonopoly procedures. In addition, one of the most ambitious projects for the development of «Ukrzaliznytsia» will be a joint project with the international giant General Electric, an agreement with which has reached the stage of signing long-term contracts.
