Ukrainian ports transshipped more than 6 mln tonnes of grains

According to the monitoring reports by APK-Inform Agency, in the period of August 1-31, 2021, the seaports of Ukraine increased the export volumes of major grain crops. Thus, in the reporting period the seaports shipped for exports 6.3 mln tonnes of grains, up by 1.9 times compared with the previous month volumes (3.3 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

In particular, in the reporting period the shipments of wheat totaled 4.2 mln tonnes, up by 3.5 times compared to the last month. Corn export decreased by 2.4 times to 0.38 mln tonnes, while barley shipments grew by 1.4 times to 1.8 mln tonnes.

In the reporting month, Indonesia was the largest importer of wheat (782.8 thsd tonnes), Egypt was the main destination for corn (57.4 thsd tonnes) and China was the key buyer of barley (752.8 thsd tonnes).

In July-August of 2021/22 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (3.1 mln tonnes) was the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (2.3 mln tonnes) and the Sea Commercial Port of Pivdennyj (1.8 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions respectively.
