Ukraine planted early spring grains throughout 2 mln ha — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of April 12, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises already planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 2 mln ha, or 89% of the forecast, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, the planted areas under spring wheat reached 144 thsd ha (87%), spring barley — 1.4 mln ha (92%), spring oats — 154 thsd ha (79%), and peas — 274 thsd ha (81%).

Also, agrarians planted corn throughout 123 thsd ha, or 3% of the plan. Ukraine planted sugar beet throughout 185 thsd ha (75%).

In addition, agrarians continued planting sunflower seed. As of the reporting date, Ukraine planted the oilseed throughout 736 thsd ha (13%).

At the same time, agrarians still provided additional fertilizing of winter grain areas — 7.5 mln ha (99%). In particular, agrarians already realized such works throughout 6.4 mln ha of winter wheat (99%), 113 thsd ha of winter rye (98%), and 993 thsd ha of winter barley (98%). In addition, agrarians provided additional fertilizing of winter rapeseed throughout 1.3 mln ha (99%).
