As of May 13, Ukrainian agrarians already planted corn throughout the areas of 3.6 mln ha, or 77% of the forecast, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Generally, the planted areas under spring grains and pulses totaled 5.8 mln ha (80% of the plan), including the completed planting campaign of early spring grains and pulses at 2.1 mln ha.
In particular, agrarians planted millet throughout 20 thsd ha (34%), and buckwheat — 7 thsd ha (8%).
In addition, agrarians continued planting oilseed crops. As of the reporting date, Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 4.4 mln ha (77%), as well as soybeans — 810 thsd ha (44%).
At the same time, Ukraine planted sugar beet throughout 218 thsd ha (89%).
