Ukraine harvested over 38 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of August 21, Ukrainian agrarians already harvested 38.9 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 10 mln ha, or 65% of the forecast. The average yield totaled 3.9 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, in all categories of agricultural households in the country the harvest of early grain crops totaled 38.9 mln tonnes, and the areas — 9.9 mln ha (99% of the plan). At the same time, buckwheat areas totaled 2 thsd ha (3%), with the harvest at 2 thsd tonnes, and the yield — 1.26 t/ha. The production of millet reached 31 thsd tonnes, the areas — 17 thsd ha (19%), in terms of the yield at 1.78 t/ha.

Also, agrarians harvested 15 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 10 thsd ha. The average yield totaled 1.44 t/ha. According to the announcement, the production volumes of rapeseed totaled 3.1 mln tonnes, while the oilseed harvested areas reached 1.25 mln ha (99%), and the yield — 2.49 t/ha.

In addition, as of the reporting date Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 481 thsd ha, or 45% of the forecast (1.1 mln ha).
