In 2019/20 MY, Ukraine to export over 50 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Economic Development

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, in 2019/20 MY Ukraine will supply 54 mln tonnes of grain crops on foreign markets, an increase of almost 5 mln tonnes compared with the same figures in 2018/19 MY, declared the press-service of the Ministry, on January 13.

According to the Ministry figures, last year the harvest of grain crops totaled nearly 75 mln tonnes, including 54 mln tonnes of the planned exports on foreign markets. The State Statistics Service of Ukraine will provide the final forecasts of grain production in March 2020 only, reported the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Taras Vysotskyi.

Also, since the beginning of the season, and as of January 10, Ukraine already exported 32.078 mln tonnes of grains. In particular, the shipments of wheat totaled 15.1 mln tonnes, barley — 3.8 mln tonnes, corn — 12.8 mln tonnes, and rye — 5 thsd tonnes.

In addition, as of the reporting date Ukraine exported 197 thsd tonnes of all types of flour, up 68.5 thsd tonnes compared with the same period last marketing year.
