Ukraine started the harvesting campaign of corn — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of September 9, fifteen oblasts of Ukraine started the harvesting campaign of corn. Thus, the production volumes totaled 281 thsd tonnes, with the average yield of 6.14 t/ha, and the harvested areas — 46 thsd ha, or 1% of the forecast, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Generally, as of the reporting date all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 39.7 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 10.1 mln ha, or 66% of the forecast. The average yield totaled 3.92 t/ha.

In particular, the production of early grain crops and pulses in the country totaled 39.2 mln tonnes, and the areas — 9.96 mln ha (99.9% of the plan). At the same time, agrarians harvested 29 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 22 thsd ha (32%), and 110 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 58 thsd ha (64%).

Also, agrarians harvested 2.5 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 1.2 mln ha (21%), with the yield of 2.04 t/ha. At the same time, the production of soybeans reached 484 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 2.26 t/ha, and the areas of 214 thsd ha (14%).
