Commodity Dispute Resolution (GDP course)

This two-day course gives delegates a thorough exploration of what happens when a contractual dispute arises in the commodities sector. Through a comprehensive mix of presentations, interactive sessions and exercises, attendees will learn not only how to effectively mitigate risks, but also what they should do after a dispute arises, including how to prepare for an arbitration.

Networking
This course is designed to maximise industry networking opportunities and attendees will have a chance to work together in groups as well as attend a drinks reception on the evening of the 5th June.

  • What happens in exceptional circumstances

  • Default and damages

  • Mediation and arbitration

  • Preparing Submissions

  • Arbitration awards and enforcement

Exam
At the end of day two (6th June) there will be an examination for all course participants and those who pass will receive an electronic certificate.

Who should attend?
This course is aimed at trade professionals who:

  • Are experienced in the trade but need detailed knowledge of the principles and processes of dispute resolution

  • Want to work towards becoming Gafta arbitrators

  • Have a good understanding of the trade but want to mitigate their risks if disputes arise
